Montez Sweat Agrees to 4-year $98 Million Contract Extension with Bears

After the Bears traded a second round pick to Washington for defensive end Montez Sweat Tuesday it was expected they would attempt to re-sign the pending free agent. They did just that Saturday, announcing a four year $98 million contract extension with the Mississippi State product.

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports $72.6 million of the money is guaranteed in the contract. When added to the rest of this season’s contract he’s being paid a total of $105 million. Chicago is all in on Sweat, now they get a chance to see if he’s worth the investment starting tomorrow.
