Justin Fields to Miss Week 18 with Hip Injury

Bears head coach Matt Eberflus announced Wednesday that quarterback Justin Fields arrived to practice complaining of hip soreness and will not play in Chicago’s final game of the season Sunday against the Vikings.

Nathan Peterman will get the start at QB as the season comes to an end. This is hardly a shocking development with the Bears attempting to secure the second pick in the draft with a loss. An outcome certainly more likely without their number one quarterback. They even have an outside chance at the first pick if the Houston Texans win Sunday.

With additional offensive line injuries in Week 17 against the Lions, the Bears left Fields badly exposed to the Detroit pass rush which sacked him seven times. Minnesota plans to play their starters this week so Sunday’s game could get ugly. Stay with Bears Insider for more coverage.
