Chicago Bears Score and Recap (Week 15): Bears 31, Browns 3 – Bears Dominate at Icy Soldier Field

The Bears took on a struggling Browns team at an icy Soldier Field Sunday afternoon attempting to win their 10th game of the season. They did not get caught looking ahead to a battle with the Packers next week and jumped ahead quickly, winning comfortably.

Chicago had excellent field position early in the first quarter and it finally paid off with a 1-yard touchdown run by RB D’Andre Swift on their second drive. After a Cleveland punt, Caleb Williams connected on long passes to WR Luther Burden III and TE Colston Loveland to set up a 3-yard TD throw to D.J. Moore that gave the home team a 14-0 lead.

The Browns had their only successful possession coming out of halftime with kicker Andre Szmyt connecting from 50 yards out to cut the deficit to 14-3. Bears linebacker D’Marco Jackson intercepted Shedeur Sanders deep in Cleveland territory and Williams immediately hit Moore for a 22-yard touchdown into a very small window to make it 21-3.

CB Jaylon Johnson intercepted Sanders again in the Bears end zone on the ensuing drive and they cashed it in on a 17-yard touchdown run by Swift to bring the advantage to 28-3 and put the game on ice before the fourth quarter even began. PK Cairo Santos, who missed from 35 yards earlier, kicked a 41-yard field goal to complete the scoring as Ben Johnson’s team won 31-3. (Box score)

Why the Bears Won

The defense was excellent creating three turnovers, the running game continued to produce, and Williams was very efficient throwing.

Key Moment

The Bears built a two score lead in the first quarter which put an anemic Browns offense into a hole they just could not dig out from.

Stats That Matter

  • Williams played well throwing for 242 yards and two touchdowns and once again avoiding any kind of mistakes.
  • Moore had a very nice game with 69 yards receiving and a pair of scores.
  • Swift came up just short of 100 yard game with 98 yards and two touchdowns.

Bottom Line

The Bears handled business quickly and made sure the lowly Browns never even came close. Now they can focus their attention on the rematch against Green Bay at Soldier Field Saturday. Reaching 10 wins is a remarkable turnaround after only winning five in 2024. One more win should get them officially in the playoffs.
